WordPress 2.6.2
ช่วงนี้มุกตันเนื่องจากกำัลังเห่อเกมใหม่ เลยไม่รู้จะเขียนเรื่องอะไรดี แ่ต่ว่าพอเหลือบไปเห็นด้านบนของ Dashboard อะไรกันฟละ เพิ่งประกาศอัพเดท เวิร์ดเพรส WordPress 2.6.1 ยังไม่ครบเดือน (ซึ่งผมก็ยังไม่ได้อัพเดทจนป่านนี้ :oops:) วันนี้ทาง wordpress.org ออก เวิรด์เพรส 2.6.2 (WordPress 2.6.2) มาอีกครับท่าน ก็เลยต้องเข้าไปดูหน่อยว่าเกิดเหตุอันใดจึงได้รีบร้อนอัพเดทไวอย่างน่าสงสัย
หลังจากกวาดสายตาอ่านแล้ว ก็พบว่าีมี users ได้แจ้งผู้พัฒนาวว่าพบอันตรายจาก SQL Column Truncation and the weakness of mt_rand() ซึ่งทำให้ต้องรีบมีการแก้ไขและได้ปล่อย WordPress 2.6.2 ออกมา ทางผู้พัฒนาแจ้งว่าถ้ามีการเปิดให้คนทั่วไปลงทะเบียน (Registration) เป็นสมาชิกบล็อก ควรจะอัพเกรดเป็นเวอร์ชั่น 2.6.2 เป็นอย่างยิ่ง
…….With open registration enabled, it is possible in WordPress versions 2.6.1 and earlier to craft a username such that it will allow resetting another user’s password to a randomly generated password. The randomly generated password is not disclosed to the attacker, so this problem by itself is annoying but not a security exploit. However, this attack coupled with a weakness in the random number seeding in mt_rand() could be used to predict the randomly generated password. Stefan Esser will release details of the complete attack shortly. The attack is difficult to accomplish, but its mere possibility means we recommend upgrading to 2.6.2……
