หลังจากสิ้นสุดการประกาศทุกรางวัล Slumdog Millinaire ก็กวาดไปทั้งสิ้น 8 สาขา โดยเฉพาะสาขาใหญ่ อย่าง ภาพยนตร์ยอดเยี่ยม, กำกับยอดเยี่ยม สำหรับสาว Kate Winslet ที่ได้สองรางวัลใหญ่จากงานลูกโลกทองคำ ก็ไม่พลิกโผ ได้รับรางวัลนักแสดงนำหญิงยอดเยี่ยม จาก “The Reader” ส่วนนักแสดงนำชาย ก็ได้รับรางวัลนี้ไป จากเรื่อง “Milk” สำหรับหนังแอกชั่น อย่าง Batman : The Dark Knight ก็ได้ไปสองรางวัล จาก Heath Ledger ในสาขานักแสดงชายสมทบยอดเยี่ยม ซึ่งก็ได้สาขาเดียวกันนี้จากงานลูกโลกทองคำ และตัดต่อเสียงยอดเยี่ยม
